El Salvador flag coloring page
The national flag of the Republic of El Salvador has three bands made of two colors blue and white alternatively. The flag bears the national coat of arms as an emblem at the center of white band. Center of the coat of arms consists of a triangle having five volcanoes. They symbolize the five member states of the United Provinces of Central America. Above the volcanoes is a red Phrygian cap on a staff before a golden sun and the date 15 September 1821, Independence Day of El Salvador. Over it is a rainbow. Behind the coat of arms there are five flags representing the flags of the Federal Republic of Central America raised. Under it, there is a scroll which states the national motto of El Salvador: Dios, Unión, Libertad (God, Union, Liberty). All of this is surrounded by a laurel garland, which is tied together under the national flag. The garland divided into 14 different parts symbolizes the 14 Salvadoran sub national administrative units. The coat of arms is encircled by the words REPUBLICA DE EL SALVADOR EN LA AMERICA CENTRAL (Republic of El Salvador in Central America). The national flag of El Salvador also serves as the nation's military flag. It was officially adopted on 17th May, 1912.
