The national flag of Mexico is a vertical tricolor of green, white, and red. There is the National Coat of Arms in the center of the white stripe featuring Mexico eagle holding a serpent with its beak & talon and perching on a prickly pear cactus that has risen from a rock above a lake. In the flag, the green color is for hope, the white for unity, purity & honesty and the red is for parenthood and the blood of national heroes. Red, white, and green are also the colors of the national liberation army in Mexico. The National Coat of Arms is related with the legend of Mexico's origin. Mexico flag ratio is 4:7. Mexico National Flag was officially adopted on 16 September, in 1968.
