It is comprised with three horizontal strips. The upper and the underside red bands are of equal size, while the central yellow strip is double of the red band's dimension. On the left hand side of the yellow band, Spain's coat of arms is depicted. A crowned shield and a pomegranate depicted at the underside of the shield. The motto found there signifies 'there is more beyond'. The colours red and yellow colours are derived from the ancient Spanish Kingdom's 'Coats of Arms'.
