The Father of Nuclear Chemistry, Otto Hahn (8 March, 1879–28 July, 1968) had made vast contributions to the fields of radioactivity and radio chemistry. Although he was a German chemist, yet he was a staunch opponent of the suppression of the Jews by the Nazis. After presiding over the Kaiser Wilhelm Society, he also headed the Max Planck Society. He was one of the dominating members of the Federal Republic of Germany.
In 1944, Hahn was given the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his discovery of nuclear fission. He strongly opposed the use of nuclear power during World War II. He was also bestowed with the Enrico Fermi Prize and also the Faraday Medal by the British Chemical Society. He also came up with the Fajhans-Faneth-Hahns law and discovery of other radioactive elements and alpha rays from radiothorium. His research in applied radio-chemistry and nuclear chemistry was profound.  He was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his relentless efforts to stop the misuse of nuclear energy.
